About Us
Launched in the summer of 2008, TrAvid is a web based event management software for small business owners. The mission of TrAvid is to help small business owners create promotional events.
Having lived all over the world, Jerry loves the excitement of moving to and discovering a new city. Every move is a new start, a new possibility, and a new environment to start afresh. However, Jerry also feels the frustrations associated with moving. i.e There he is again, alone in a brand new city, no friends or family around to share the excitement with. This is the paradox of moving: you experience all the excitement, but you are not happy because you don't have anyone to share it with.
Having moved recently to Vancouver, Jerry decided to take matters into his own hands. This time by creating a Meetup group. He thought that Vancouver was a transient city — that there would be a lot of Newcomers looking to make friends. Also, it would be a cool way to meet people from all over the world.
In May 2008, Jerry started the Vancouver Newcomers Meetup group. After 40+ meetup events and having attracted 730+ members, the group has turned out to be a wild success. Here is what the members are saying about the group:
